Beef Stroganoff

A winter comfort food in any Russian household, serve with steamed rice and a green salad. This can also be done in a slow cooker.


Beef, chopped – 500g
Onion, chopped – 1
Mushrooms, chopped – 300g
Prunes – 100g
Beef stock cube dissolved in water (120ml) – 1
Tomato paste concentrate – 1tbsp
Cornflour – 1tbsp
Sour cream – 300g


Fry the beef, onions and mushrooms. Add in the prunes. Add the tomato paste and cornflour to the beef stock and pour in. Cook until the sauce thickens, and add the sour cream towards the end.
