The Grace Dress & Skirt by Simple Sew Patterns

How I Started

This was the first time I used a pattern to make a dress (back in 2016). My first attempt was not up to my standards. I miscalculated the pattern alterations, and so made the back length and skirt length too short, and there was gaping at the arm hole and neckline. I don’t have any photos of this dress as I was so unhappy with the results that I took the dress apart and re-used the fabric for other things.

A year on from my first attempt, I was more confident in my sewing. So I made this dress again. It is view A without sleeves, in a size 10 using “Sophie Alice” tana lawn cotton fabric from Liberty.
